Responsibility for Collective Epistemic Harms

چکیده

Abstract Discussion of epistemic responsibility typically focuses on belief formation and actions leading to it. Similarly, accounts collective have addressed the issue associated actions. However, there has been little discussion for preventing harms, particularly those preventable only by action an unorganized group. We propose account that fills this gap. Building Hindriks’s (2019) moral responsibility, we introduce duty join forces. Our theory provides responsibilities scientists prevent harms during inquiry.

Epistemic Responsibility without Epistemic Agency

This article discusses the arguments against associating epistemic responsibility with the ordinary notion of agency.
